Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 until 2020. In the months following her graduation early from the University of California, Berkeley, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her debut in professional football and helped the team win the league title. Morgan, then 22 years young, was the youngest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, where she was second. At the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 28 goals and 21 assists as she joined Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and give 20 assists within the same calendar year . becoming the sixth the tiniest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was also integral in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and 2019. She was selected for both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
