Niykee is still writing songs despite having been caught up in the latest crisis. Her selection was made for this year's YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and he accompanied her on stage. Songwriting is an inspiration to new producers. Niykee is always listening to music and comes across beats songs that inspire her. It's only after five seconds that I can determine whether a beat is worth it. After that, I get the idea of a whole song inside my head and start writing. As I play my guitar in my front yard, words start to flow. A majority times, it's done in thirty minutes. In her development her skills as a lyricist, Niykee explains that the hurt of her experiences in the past is a constant source of unimaginable sources of inspiration. Even when she's not composing about things that are actually happening every ache through her childhood and loss of her sister makes it's way into her music. The memories influence my songs and builds this deeper understanding behind all things that's among the most significant things to me--I need to know that I can listen to any of my music 20 years from now and still feel proud of the things I wrote.
